Fantastic location and views of Burj Khalifa, but poor communication and unnecessary check-in uncertainty made an expens Positive: the apartment itself was clean, and the location was absolutely spot on. The highlight was the incredible view — Burj Khalifa was directly opposite our balcony, which truly made the stay special. Negative: We recently stayed in two apartments, and while there were positives, the overall experience was unnecessarily stressful. For months before arrival, I repeatedly asked whether we could check in early at 11am, even if just for one of the two apartments. At no stage did the team clearly say “no” — instead, we were kept hanging with “subject to availability” responses right up until the last minute. A clear answer earlier would have helped us plan properly. Our flights arrived very early in the morning, and we ended up spending nearly 6 hours travelling around Dubai without knowing whether we could leave our luggage or use the swimming pool while waiting. Because there was no confirmation, we had to hire a mini bus for 6 hours at additional cost. We were extremely tired, had not slept, and felt completely left in limbo. Communication via WhatsApp lacked clarity throughout. Even when we arrived around 3pm, the gentleman receiving us initially said, “We will notify you once the apartment is ready.” At that point, I had to firmly explain that it was already 3pm — the stated check-in time — and that we had been travelling around Dubai for the last 6 hours and expected our apartments. Within minutes, he arranged the keys for us, which suggested the apartments were in fact already ready. This made the earlier uncertainty even more frustrating. We were lucky our phones were working locally. I do wonder how this process would work for international travellers whose phones may not be functioning on arrival. With check-in coordination happening at short notice and requiring a 30-minute heads-up, it could be quite difficult for overseas guests. We were informed about the 1030 AED security deposit per Appartment (as stated on Booking.com), which was processed via a payment link and we advised will be refunded after 5-10 of check-out. That part was handled correctly. The gentleman we met in person was polite and apologetic, which we appreciated.
